The A3 Roadmap: My Passion, My Purpose

Hi, I’m Steve Brown—Olympian, Wide Receiver, Multi-Directional Speed & Agility Coach, and Motivational Speaker.

My journey has taken me from the streets of Washington, DC, to the NFL, CFL, and even the Olympic Games.

But my story isn’t just about sports—it’s about the power of education, mentorship, and giving back. That’s why I created the A3 Roadmap—to help young athletes navigate their own path to success, just like I did.

Why A3?

The A3 Roadmap stands for three key pillars that shaped my life:

Athletic Readiness – I know firsthand what it takes to compete at the highest levels. A3 helps student-athletes develop the skills, discipline, and mindset needed for success on and off the field.
Academic Excellence – My parents instilled in me the value of education. No matter how fast you run or how high you jump, academics are the foundation for long-term success. A3 ensures student-athletes stay on track in the classroom while excelling in sports.
Advisory Support – I didn’t get here alone. Coaches, teachers, mentors, and family played a huge role in my journey. A3 provides guidance for students and parents—helping them make smart choices about scholarships, recruiting, and college preparation.

My Road to Success

Raised by parents who believed in both sports and school, I learned early on that discipline, education, and hard work go hand in hand. That mindset earned me a full-ride athletic scholarship to Wake Forest University, where I was a four-year starter in football and a track All-American.

My athletic career took me from the Chicago Bears (NFL) to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) and ultimately to the 2000 Olympic Games, where I proudly represented Trinidad & Tobago in Sydney, Australia. Competing on a global stage in over 60 cities across 25 countries taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and purpose.

Here’s a collage of me speaking in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the opening Keynote Speaker and Workshop Speaker (and my dad/booking manager is able to enjoy it with me).
